Solution Squad designs and installs business networks across Auckland — structured cabling, Wi-Fi, firewalls and business fibre — with engineers based at our head office in East Tāmaki. We handle the physical work that remote-only providers can't: site surveys, office fit-outs, cabinet builds and connection cut-overs, anywhere from the CBD to Pukekohe and Kumeū. Since 2019 that has meant one local team responsible for everything between the street and your staff's screens.
Network builds are physical, local work
A network install can't be done down a phone line. Someone has to walk the floor, lift the ceiling tiles, run the cable, mount the access points and test every port — which is why this service runs out of our Auckland office at 30B Allens Road, East Tāmaki, rather than a call centre. From there our engineers run cabling and Wi-Fi jobs across the isthmus and the Shore, east through Botany, south to Pukekohe and north-west to Kumeū when the work calls for it.
Being surrounded by the East Tāmaki and Botany commercial precincts shapes the work. A typical week mixes logistics warehouses where racking kills the Wi-Fi, workshops where dust and machinery rule out consumer gear, and professional offices that just want the internet to stop being a topic of conversation. Whatever we install connects back into our wider internet and networking service, so the network is monitored and supported long after the ladders go back on the van.
Cabling, Wi-Fi and firewalls — the three jobs we're called for
Auckland enquiries usually arrive in one of three shapes. The first is a fit-out or move: a new lease signed in Botany, Highbrook or the city, bare walls, and a date the team has to be working by. We cable the premises, build the comms cabinet, and commission Wi-Fi and a business-grade firewall so the network is live before the desks arrive.
The second is a repair job on a network that grew one cheap switch at a time. We survey what exists, keep what's sound, replace what isn't, and label everything so the next person can make sense of it. The third is security-driven: an insurer, auditor or major customer has asked what firewall you run, and the answer needs to change. We supply, configure and manage firewalls sized for the business, not the brochure.
Fibre and One NZ connections, arranged from the same desk
The connection into the building matters as much as the gear inside it, so we run a One NZ dealer desk at the East Tāmaki office. Business fibre, backup wireless broadband and mobile plans are ordered by the same company building your network — one point of contact, and one place to escalate if a circuit is running late. Where fibre isn't available yet, or a second connection makes sense for resilience, we'll give you a straight recommendation; our guide comparing fibre and wireless internet for NZ businesses covers the trade-offs in detail.
Connections arranged alongside an install are commissioned as part of the build — router, firewall and Wi-Fi configured for the circuit from day one, instead of a courier box left at reception for someone to figure out.
How an Auckland network job runs
It starts with a site visit, not a quote template. An engineer walks your premises, checks cable routes and riser access, notes where fibre enters the building, and measures the spaces the Wi-Fi has to reach. You get a fixed-scope proposal based on what's actually there. Install work is staged around your trading hours where the building allows, and on new fit-outs we coordinate with your builder so cabling goes in before the walls close up.
After go-live you choose the relationship: a documented handover, or ongoing management with monitoring and 24/7 support for managed clients. Either way, the people who built the network are the ones who answer for it. To get a survey booked, call 09 302 7771 or reach us through the contact page — and if you're nearby, there's off-street parking at Allens Road.

FAQs
Frequently asked questions
Do you run a site survey before quoting a network installation in Auckland?
Yes — for anything beyond a simple swap-out, an engineer visits the site first. We check cable routes, ceiling and riser access, where fibre enters the building, and how the space is actually used, then quote a fixed scope against what we found. Surveys across greater Auckland are arranged through the East Tāmaki office; call 09 302 7771 to book one.
Can you install cabling and Wi-Fi while our office keeps trading?
Usually, yes. Most cabling and access-point work can be staged around your hours — floor by floor, or after close for the disruptive parts like cutting into ceilings. During the survey we flag anything that will need downtime, such as switching over the comms cabinet, and agree a window for it in advance so nobody arrives to a dead network on a Monday.
Can one job cover the fibre order, firewall and Wi-Fi for a new Auckland fit-out?
That's how we prefer to run fit-outs. The One NZ dealer desk at our East Tāmaki office orders the fibre while our engineers cable the premises, so the circuit, firewall and Wi-Fi are commissioned together rather than by three separate suppliers pointing at each other. It also means one invoice trail and one number to call if anything misbehaves after go-live.
Does a warehouse need different Wi-Fi gear than an office?
Almost always. Steel racking, stock height and forklift traffic block signal in ways an open-plan office never sees, so warehouse access points need different mounting, antennas and placement — often in rugged housings. Around East Tāmaki and South Auckland we design for the racking plan, not the empty floor, so coverage holds up once the shelves are full.
